How should I communicate with a business that sends invoices two years late? After much research, I found the majority of the invoices are correct. I am paying these now. Some were previously paid. Good communication skills are needed at this point with the letter I am enclosing.

I usually get my lunch at IGA a local grocery store and spend about $5 for a healthy lunch, but lately after switching assignments at work, I am near a lot of small bistros. I would like to have lunch at these places but it would be more like $12 a day. I know its only lunch and a few dollars, but I find it hard to accept as I have very ambishous financial goals. It's also more than lunch too. There's boutique kids stores and all that. I am a business owner and I know how important it is to have local support. Any suggestion as to how to balance spending localy and spending at chain stores.What do you do.
Is your local small business slow too?
My barbershop has slowed down 30 % since July 09 and it was not a slow decline. Its been busy for years....I'm sad. Same barbers, same great service prices....no close competition...? I don't get it...This shops been here since 1957....I'm doing ok....but just sad....I think people are waiting longer for cuts, cause I still see the same people come in...
Why do investment advisors shun local small business investments?
I have been looking for some small investors to grow my 26 year old business reformed as an LLC about a year ago. Each time I locate someone, they explain that their advisor recommends against investing in small businesses, even one as established as mine. Others contend that the $100K I seek is way too small to deal with.Seems to me that being able to look an owner in the eye and having some influence is much better than owning 0.00001 % of a giant conglomorate and having no control at all.So, you advisors out there... why do you dislike small local business so much?OK, so you invest $1 million in stock, and realize a return of 12 %. In contrast, you invest $100K in a small business and realize a return of 17 %. Yes, the net amount of cash is lower but the return is higher. How can it not be worth the time?
